R50/53 Water
Water
It rained last night and I’m a little disappointed. I replaced my door seals, which aren’t cheap, and I’m still getting water under the seal. I lifted the bottom section this morning to see and it was wet.
what should I check next to prevent water build up and eventually rust? I already repaired the little rust that had started in the pinched metal the seal secures to.
The next step will be waterproof car cover until I can make room in the garage if I can’t figure out the leak. Glad I live in the Desert.

I couldn't find a coolant leak on a car once and tied little bits of paper towels around every hose clamp looking for dampness.
You might try putting little bits of paper towels inside the seals and then slowly wetting and checking looking for the source of your leak. This is tricky as opening a door will allow water to come through so you will have to wait for it to dry. Wetted and dried paper towels still reveal being wetted.
That said, I'm betting that if you've replaced your seals, then it would be a worn hinge or latch and loose door fit. You might also try sticking a sheet of paper into the seal and pulling it out looking for a loose location. Of course, it probably is at the top where gravity lets it in and not the bottom unless there is an interior vacuum drawn by a heater fan.
Good luck,
Peter
