R50/53 Powerflex bushings

Not that it will ease your labors but, quite a few of us have felt this pain. Somehow the back of the bushing gets compressed after it goes in the mount.
Here's a few things to try:
1. With everything out of the car you can try a F style clamp if you have it, but they will likely just back out again.
2. With the subframe back up in the car as you are trying to get it all assembled, try a ratcheting strap. Loop it between the first big hole on the control arm and one side or the other of the bushing mount.
3. Another method discussed is using a crowbar or really long & heavy duty screwdriver to push it in and with your 3rd hand then maneuver/connect the inner ball joint.

I put the lube in the black part of the bushing then put the purple center in the black part. If it is tight I use a pair of huge pliers to pop them in, then slide the whole thing on the control arm shaft.
