Maybe-

Ebay.com
Junk yards or wreckage and recovery places
Bank foreclosures
Car auctions
Police impound auctions

Read also-

and

Good luck.

I can't give you much help as to where to find one, but have a couple other tips in case you don't already know about this:

1) Don't get a car with a sunroof. It adds a lot of weight, up high. Not good.

2) Browse around the threads in the competition section. You can get a pretty good idea of what mods will put you in which classes and where you'll be competitive and where you won't.

3) You might put a "WTB" ("wanted to buy") ad in the marketplace section if you haven't already.

4) Do a search for "crispy" to check out some threads from a guy who bought a MINI a year and a half ago that had had an engine fire. He just got it running last week. He's got a web site with very well documented photos and $$$.

Good luck - keep us posted on your progress!

thanks
"Salvaged" does not always mean the same thing "now a days". Bump the front bumper and have some airbags go off and you can total the vehicle as the cost of repair is sooooo much for airbags, yet the vehicle is not "hurt". If you find a salvaged one check it out and find out why it was salvaged.

thanks alot guys,i was wondering about the sunroof thing.is their a class for the mini that has no limations?? any engine whatever you want? and about the salvage thing its hard because they are still asking so much money for a car thats messed up. And i have a few questions for you guys see if anyone knows?

will a mcs engine fit rite into a mc,are the engine mounts in the same spot?

witch car is lighter the mc or mcs?

would a bare bones mini with no options be the lightest?
keep the info coming guys its been alot of help, and thanks to everyone thats helping.

mcs engine should fit a mc no problem... only hood clearance is the problem.. you'd need a new mcs hood.. maybe cf hood?

mc is lighter

bare bone mini is always lightest...

i wouldn't get the mcs engine if im building a full fledge racer... if i had the money (which i don't!) i'd get something like a compact 1.8 B18C motor, and bolt it behind the front passenger, making it a mid engine car! put the gas tank up front, with a battery there as well.. there are other issues to work out of coze but you know that's why you want to build a racer right?
