New purchase R50

Well im back into Mini"s. This time I have gotten my hands on a 04 Mini R50 Manual. It only has 64K, Inside was in perfect condition. The outside is Rally Green, white top an moon roof. Has a couple minor dongs. The only is the left door window is inop. Im thinking the door motor is bad. Other than that she is perfect. Paid 4200 for th car. .

Awesome car low mileage,

I have the same one r50 w 104k now bought w 68k in 2012 . That window issue will be recurring. Look up the Fonz method to fix it. It will tell you where to bang the door to get the window down, I do it quite often.
is that the same color as British Racing Green? Good Luck and see you out there.

you will love driving it it’s a lot of fun w the window down I can almost hang my hand down and touch the ground

My R50 has an intermittent window regulator issue that I can cause to happen. The drivers side widow will not go down if I use the "convenience open" feature. If it is turned on in your car, you can press the unlock button twice to unlock the drivers door and passenger door, then press and hold the unlock button again. If enabled, both windows and sunroof will open as long as you have the unlock button held. When I do this, the passenger window and the sunroof will open but the drivers window will not go down until I close the sunroof and passenger window, shut down the car and wait 20 min. Then the drivers window will go down with the interior toggle switch. I just don't use the convenience open feature any more and windows work fine. About 150K, original R50 owner with only one rebuilt Midlands/Rover 5 speed. I should have done the Getrag 6 swap. If your R50 has the Getrag 5 you shouldn't have any issues with the tranny, if not, the Midlands/Rover will fail. It's just a matter of miles. When it does and you plan to keep the car long term, do the Getrag 6 speed swap and be done with that issue for ever. Happy motoring!
