That's the same setup I have, plus the Milltek resonated exhaust... it's nice!

remembering my 2002-S

I got better mpg when I stayed out of 6th gear until I was doing 65 or better and generally cruising in the 3000+ RPM range ... the motor would bog down seriously at 2000 - 2400 RPM unlike my later GEN cars ....

100% stock for 100,000 miles and got around 24 for the daily commute (highway with some stop and go) and would occasionally approach 29-30 when on open highway at 70+ for a long stretch

Going through my kid's car, we did all the above except plug wires and always Chevron 91. We also changed the 02 sensors (up and downstream), cleaned MAP sensors, new thermostat, and sealed up as much of the oil leaks as possible. In town, he sees 21 mpg up and down the hills. To and from SF State (50 miles round trip, all freeway) about 25.5.

Just drove ~2k miles this weekend to NC and back. Sticking to 80ish MPH on the freeway I was getting 28.5mpg per tank very consistently, with a 15% reduction pulley. In the year the car has been on the road I've averaged 27mpg across 35 fillups. See below for fuelly badge.

The one tank that was nothing but joyriding through the mountains I got 22mpg; no highway driving at all, and foot constantly on the throttle.

I've logged my mileage since new and my 2002 R53 (JCW Tuning Kit installed July 2003) has averaged 27.7 MPG over 75,000 miles. Worst mileage for any tank was 17 MPG averaging 15.5 MPH driving in San Francisco. I've averaged 31.6 MPG on 26,000 miles of road trips involving mostly highway driving.

cool. Mine has the JCW exhaust from the JCW package, but it’s so old I want to ungraded the whole system, but not set on what to go with. I’ve heard Molltek and Remus are good exhaust systems for the R53
