Coincidence?....I am thinking not…

Put your thinking caps on this is a fun one I ordered a rear wiper delete kit. Prior to installation everything in the back was working, hatch opened, license plate lights worked etc. I open the hatch follow the instructions for the install of the wiper delete (pretty straight forward) close the hatch to admire my work and surprise! the hatch will not open. Ready for the fun part? I got to use the back up hatch release under the back seat and it is gone...like the PO removed it or it broke but it is gone. Now my first thought was the little button you have to push to open the hatch had gone bad as they are known to do but this morning I checked the back on a whim before leaving for work and the license plate lights are out as well. So I am guessing something electrical somehow? Not sure how though as none of the wiper motor wires have anything to do with any of this as far as I can tell. So it is a coincidence that it all went bad at the same time I was removing the wiper motor or did I somehow knock something loose or what? I am still trying to figure out how to open the hatch I am really trying to figure out if I just need to go ahead and order the rear trunk handle with the switch and lights or is there a fuse or something I somehow blew.

Problem solved! I accidentally unplugged the power to the hatch when I pulled the wiper motor out. I got instructions from Chad at Detroit Tuned (where I bought the kit) on how to open the hatch so all is well
