fix something, another breaks...

So my passenger window on my 2004 Mini Cooper decided to stop rolling down. I ordered a window motor, took the door panel off, discovered the bolts holding the glass in a stripped, watched a video hoping to learn a way around this road block and heard about banging on the motor to see if it might work... and of course it did. I buttoned it back up knowing this would only buy some time until I could get help with removing said stuck bolts.

As I gently pushed the passenger door closed, it didn't close all the way. I tried to open the door, but it had locked. I walked around to the drivers seat and tried the toggle switch for the locks: nothing. *sigh* And now the key will not lock/unlock at all.

I checked and replaced the fuse (although it seemed fine). What next? What would cause the toggle switch to suddenly stop working?
FYI, remote key fob has never worked for me. I've always use the key to unlock the door. And there are only 68,000 miles on the car.

General rule of thumb for DIY repairs is "fix 5, break 2."

My husband figured it out after I pulled the door panel for the 3rd time... I had jiggled the door lock stem loose *just a little bit*. Everything works now.

I think she was just mad because I haven't driven her for a while.
