Vehicle Owner Warranty Notification Center

Has anyone received a letter from the "VehicleOwnerWarrantyNotificationCenter"?? I received on in the mail the other day. The letter stated it’s a program in conjunction with MINI to help me save 40-60% on warranty issues. IT felt like a scam to me, it looked like a form letter. This is my first new car so I was a little worried when I received this letter. The people on the phone there were horribly pushy to the point that I had to hang up. Just wondering if anyone else has received this same letter? Thanks for the help.

Cheers,
Scott

Not necessarily a scam, but certainly underhanded. I have been getting them for my other cars as they neared the end of the factory warranty. The ones I received were not related to Honda (although the letter implied it) and they were trying to sell me extended warranty. I believe they can buy your info from a database of new car owners, and they track you.

I even received some offering extended warrantys on my TV and DVD playes!!

Don't even call them!

Um, how can you save on something that's free? Your warranty doesn't cost anything as it's built into the price of the car.

Now if they're talking about extended warranties, yes, it's a scam. Most extended warranties aren't worth much of anything because they have so many exclusions.

Not always. Depends who is offering the warranty. My wife got an extended warranty with Chase when she financed her Neon (yrs ago) after a lease. I thought it was a bad idea. Then the engine blew with 38k miles on it - just out of the Dodge warranty. Chase covered it completely. No problem. Needless to say however, she got rid of that piece of crap shortly afterwards!

Its junk. I have received the same thing for a Jeep and a Chevy. Both of them implying that they are from there respective manufactures. If your used to reading email scams, the letter reaks of rip off. Infact, I have been receiving similar email that are probably related.
