R50/53 Bypass valve recommendation
Bypass valve recommendation
I need a new bypass valve and was wondering if you all had a recommendation for a company other than Detroit Tuned. The cheap ones on eBay and Amazon look tempting but I don't want to be penny wise and pound foolish. Thanks for your help!
The Detroit Tuned Bypass has a stiffer spring that lowers the threshold that boost is activated. Would think any of the part vendors here would have a bypass valve that works. The biggest gamble on the cheaper parts routes IMO is when electronics are involved as the ECU is very input sensitive.

We are the only company that makes one that i know of. When someone calls the shop for help and they tell me they have an eBay part on the car , but it's not working now...well there you go, eBay quality.

I decided to go with a Mini bypass valve. One of the reviews of a cheap one on Amazon showed the plunger had torn 6 months after being installed. I don't mind working on my car but in 6 months it will be winter and I prefer to avoid repairs when it's cold.
