Modifying the Craven Speed Phone Mount
Hey, I have the Craven Speed Phone XMount, but when I try to record videos in the mount, I mostly see the dash. I have tried to position the phone in the mount on an angle, but still it shows way too much dash. Anyone modify their's? I'm thinking the best solution is to heat and twist the top leg of the mount so that it sits more vertical.
any input would be appreciated.
PS. I just figured out how to overlay gauges from Torque Track Recorder and save it as a video, So I plan on doing that for some autocross if i can get the camera angle right.

What might be easiest is to swap the arm for a longer one.

Your Scissor (X-shaped) mount is installed on a 3.5 inch arm and we offer a 5 Inch version. If twisting it might get you the view you wanted, then maybe an extra inch up will also. You could even stack two of the 3" arms together. They could fold back over each other to bring the phone back in close when you were not shooting video.
