I just found out why sometimes I get in my Mini and the windows and roof are slightly open it's called Comfort open when you press the open button on your key and leave you thumb on it,it will open both windows and roof Very cool in the summer.Which brings me to the next bit can you wire it so it so it will close all too?I know you can do this with the key in but maybe you can with the key lock button.I had it on a Golf I had they call it total closure.Any help would be great.

Nope, can't close via remote. Have to stick key in the lock and turn clockwise and hold (ala VW/Audi).

Nope. This has been discussed at some length in other threads and the concensus seems to be that since MINI declined to install an obstacle sensor to stop the window from going up and munching someone's hand (or head), it's not legal to activate automatic window closing.

My boyfriend's mother drives a 2002 Lexus IS300. Her driver's side window has one touch automatic down as well as one touch automatic UP. I was hoping the MINI would have that feature as well. If Lexus has it, it must be legal to do it. Whether there is a sensor in the window to prevent someone's head from getting stuck while it is automatically going up, I don't know.

Perhaps this is different than what you all are referring to..maybe it is legal in this situation because you have to be in the car to initiate the automatic roll up of the driver's side window. i guess my post has nothing to do with the automatic closing of all windows from the remote. hehe woops!

Want a quick answer? Sit in your car and have the windows come up. As they are coming up, stick out your arm and hold steady. The window just keeps going, doesn't respond to "input". Now do the same trick in a car with auto-up windows. Initiate the auto up and then stick out your arm. It will just barely budge your arm before reversing and going back down.

So in a nutshell, the MINI doesn't have the module that "senses" or "feels" blockage. Hence no auto up/auto convenience close.
