Congrats! Mine was on the Freedom (left Southampton 10/24) and was unloaded in Charleston today 11/5 . Hope it makes it through the VPC as quickly as yours!

I know it can vary a lot, but what have the typical waits been from VPC to dealer?
(Can you tell I'm anxious?)

we've docked

Mimini arrived on 11/5 also, heading for O'Town. I'm expecting to hear from my MA soon.

i'm so excited, i can hardly stand it! 4:00 can't come soon enough!

from what i'm hearing around atlanta, the cars are zipping through the vdc. once my MINI was loaded on the ship, i called my ma and he was able to give the the date the ship would dock in charleston (mine didn't go by ww, so i couldn't track it myself). you can go to the port of charleston website and see when your ship is expected, and even check it the day it's being unloaded. it's been such a fun (but stressful) two months!

Penny, did you get your car? Details, please!

Lombard, WW no longer lists my VIN on their site? Do you know what this means? I think I recall reading somewhere that the car might be on another ship or even Shipping Line, but I can't remember. Ideas?

I'm not at all sure on this, but that sounds to me like what I've heard, from other stories of people whose VINs just "disappeared" off the WW site. If your car didn't get on the Liberty, rather than waiting around for the next WW ship, they may have gotten it a ride on another line. No way to track it until it arrives in the US.

I'm not sure that it's better being able to track it, though. WW says my car is "loaded on vessel" but the Owner's Lounge and the human I spoke to at ASK-MINI both said, no, it's still awaiting transport. I'm inclined to believe the former, just 'cause that gets the car close to me.

But I hear a lot of people say that all of a sudden, the car just sort of appears at the VDC, no matter what sort of things you see/hear from all these sources. All in all, I think it's probably a good sign that your VIN disappeared from WW's site. I think that means you're on a ship somewhere.

Good luck! Our cars will probably meet up again at the VDC!

Thanks for the reply - I agree with your sentiment, I think we both need to "drink the Koolaid" and believe that our cars are enroute until we are shown otherwise. Woo Hoo!

to provide you with a little counterpoint: I left a $500 deposit with a BMW dealership in Nov. of 2001(because the MINI dealership wasn't even a glimmer) .My car is a July build 2002, MCS, which I took delivery of on the last day of July-10 MONTHS LATER! Enjoy your baby when it gets here!

sorry to have disappeared, but i've been driving around with a big grin on my face for the last 10 days! i picked up my hb/w mcs on 11/6. it was an extremely painless process. we pulled into the lot and there, like an angel, was my car, just out of detailing. it was the most beautiful thing ever! i filled out a little paperwork, my ma went over the operation of all the features (he laughed at me because i had already downloaded the owners manual), and i was off. the car is as wonderful as i imagined it being!

the agony of the wait was forgotten the moment i saw it (i was lucky as to only have waited 2 months from order to delivery). for every one going thru the waiting game, just hold on, and know that it will be so worth it once you're on the road in your new MINIs!!

Congratulations, Penny! Looks like you beat me and 62lincoln!

My car is now "Discharged" from the Liberty. So I assume that means she's at (or very near to) the VDC. My estimated delivery date is 11/24 - just a week from tomorrow - but since that's the day before Thanksgiving, we won't be able to fly back to Cleveland to get her until the following Friday, 12/3. Still, that comes to only 6-1/2 weeks from placing the order to picking up the car. Not bad!

Motor on!
