What a fabulous picture story! You obviously had a blast.. Thanks so much for sharing it with us...not everybody gets the chance to do what you did...awesome!!

I love the "ghetto bra" Those nasty bugs can certainly be a pain to get off after being plastered on for over a week...

Chow!

Would you mind sharing how you found your Mini? We all assume you got a killer deal on the car to fly/drive it home across country, and want to know the details...Please share. I did the same last year. Ordered my MCS at MSRP from Mini of Jacksonville, FL and drove it back to So Cal in 5 days. I agree that it should be a must for all new Mini owners. My father and I had a great trip and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Hey what's the blue stuff?
Tape?

I am heading to a show soon..... super early and don't want to do a complete detail when I get there.

By the way, that looks incredibly fun.

I've had my eye on the new Mini for quite some time now and had the pulse on used market. I knew exactly what I wanted and keep checking eBay, Auto Trader and craigslist on a daily basis. Well, eBay turned out to have a Mini equipped as I wanted and it met it's reserve fairly low. Even with a little overbidding in the last seconds of the auction, I still saved over $7k off from new.

Specs are: '03 MCS, SP, PP, CWP, NAV, R90's, (4)S-lites, Factory Aux Guages, full clearbra, factory car cover, chrome mirror caps, and 9k miles.

Ordering a new car is nice, I last did it when I had an E46 M3. You get exactly what you want and the only tough part is the wait for it to be built. My recommendation to those wanting to save a few bucks is there's a used Mini out there for everyone, you just have to know what you want, know how much you want to pay for it and most of all, be patient.

2" wide painter's tape. I use this on the track since it's easier to take off and doesn't leave a tacky residue like "Racer's Tape", aka colored duct tape.

Looks silly, and I got alot of points and double-takes, but it worked like charm against all the bugs and rocks.

Looks like it was a very fun trip. Thanks for the sharing the pics! The Skyway bridge and R&R HOF are familiar sites I'm hoping my future Mini and I will visit.

In Fort Smith, Arkansas, I bought a lighter from them with that logo on it! LOVE IT!

Loki, I've taken two cross-country roadtrips in my Wanda and highly recommend them to all MINIacs! Your photos are AWESOME! Thanks so much!
