You threw me for a loop when I saw pictures of all those incredible places (WITH BLUE PAINTERS TAPE ON YOUR PRIDE AND JOY?) Normally I would let the bugs stick on my car now but I can relate and would NOT want all those bugs attached to my brand new MINI! Great shots and keep the roadtrips going........keep us posting of new road trips and be careful in Soccer Mom Land. I heard they have a couple of mean pirates!
We just did a similar one from Ohio (where we picked up our mini) to Portland, Oregon. We hit many of the same places.. The wall drug signs were RELENTLESS! We had to stop too! Also we hit Chicago like you.
Well I didn't get to pull off in the salt flats to give terminal velocity a try.
...but the latter half of the trip, mainly Wyoming and the desert area of 80 in Utah, the norm was a constant 95-110mph for hundreds of miles at a time. The car didn't break a sweat!
I'm sure JCW Driver will attest that after traveling thousands of miles across the US, you'll be hard pressed to think of any other car you'd have as much fun in as the MINI.
