MORE dealer problems!

This is all in regard to Lauderdale BMW.

My windshield cracked 2 weeks ago, and my passenger side Xenon headlight went out. No biggie, they replaced both under warranty.

But in the process, the dripped sealant all over my hood, so now its stained. They said they'll wet sand it to get it off, but wont that ruin my clearcoat?

Back to the Xenon headlight. Like I said, they replaced it. With a normal headlight bulb. So now I have one Xenon, and one regular yellow headlamp. Plus, the one they "fixed" is completely fogged up.

Ive been at this dealership 4 times in the past two weeks...this is getting ridiculous.

On the Xenon....You can't put a regular bulb in a xenon enclosure. There are ballasts that lift the voltage for the bulb. So I don't think you can just throw a regular bulb in. Now if the enclosure is faulty, happened to me, and they put the wrong enclosure in then yes you could get a regular bulb in there. This sounds more likely, but still frickin' stupid.

FWIW, I had my passenger side xenon go out, and it wasn't the bulb, they replaced the whole assembly. Now up close the passenger side has a slightly different hue to it, but is really only noticable when you park up against a wall and are really looking for it.

I guess I'd have someone sit in the car, at night preferably, and have that person turn on the lights and see if it fires like a xenon, or if it just turns on like a regular headlamp. If it fires up the same, then I'd suspect a faulty bulb/assembly.

Its pretty noticeable, especially during the day. Theres a HUGE contrast in color. I called MINI USA, and logged a complaint, that way theres at least a record of whats going on. This just all seems so silly to me that these mistakes can get made.

Have you talked to Joe Sparacino, service manager at Lauderdale Imports?

I would also suggest talking to Bonnie (Sales Manager) as she is very helpful when it comes to situations like this. If worse comes to worse, get a hold of the dealership's General Manager.

I'm off to the dealer as we speak...GOD I hope they dont mess up the car even worse...I hate having body work done to a four month old car.
