R50/53 Cool Blue = Electric Blue?
electric blue is the bright light blue that's only for the mcs.
cool blue is the new light blue that's only for the mcsc.
hyper blue is the new middle blue that replaces the old blue available for all minis.

Electric Blue Coopers are not sold in the U.S. but they are currently available in Europe.
I think MINIUSA decided not to make EB available in the good ole' USA market to avoid "upsetting" EB MCS owners with their "exclusive" color scheme.
Other than that, I see no reason why EB is not available in the US spec Cooper.

actually cool blue is ver different from electric blue, as stated, cool blue is not as bright as the electric blue.
i actually owuld think that cool blue and hyper blue are a lot closer to one another than electric blue is.
and lastly, electric blue and hyper blue is only available on the cooper s hardtop, and cool blue is only available on the convertiable models, both the S and non S models.
hope this helps

and believe me lots of eb mcs owners feel quite betrayed
While there is no technical reason to not allow Electric blue for an MC in the US, it isn't available- just as there is no Dark Silver color option for the MC.
However, if the rest of the world has something as simple as a color then so can the US if there is enough demand for it. So express your desires to MINIUSA.
They will probably add EB for the MC before they add hot metallic pink.
Hey today I saw a white Miata with dual wide pink hood stripes and matching pink wheels. It looked like Barbie's car on drugs.

The miata looked only slightly better than this halloween special.
