R50/53 Buying out of warranty question
Buying out of state warranty question
I'm from southern California and I cant find anywhere that sells mini cooper convertibles for msrp without a long waiting list, so i am considering buying out of state. I was wondering how the warranty would work. Do i have to take it to the dealer from where i bought it, or can i get it serviced at a local dealer?
Thanks
Thanks
Welcome to North American Motoring.
You can take your MINI to be serviced at any MINI dealer regardless of where you bought it. I lived in Denver, purchased in N.Y., and moved to Southern California. The dealers here don't care where I purchased the car; I get treated the same. Which sometimes isn't really saying that much.

Bought in salt Lake for No. Cal.
I bought my '02 in salt Lake city to get
1) No mark up.
2)Factory order.
3) Shorter wait.
I didn't have any issues at all, but a long drive home! I didn't have to sign anything, but the check.

I just purchased mine at Moritz Mini in Texas and drove it back. Everything went very smoothly with registration and financing, but I have yet to need any service. Long Beach MINI is at MSRP and ocassionally has a few slip through the cracks.
Good luck and get motoring,
