Curious about exhaust...

So I am currently mocking up my R60 for a custom exhaust. In the process I have been looking at way to many exhaust pics of all minis for inspiration. In the process it dawned upon me that an r52/53 rear section may be a perfect fit for an R60 with a slight modification. If the final 90* bends were replaced with straight pipes they may size up directly to the bumper cutouts or at least very close. R60 tailpipes are roughly 39-40 inches center to center. Any change someone could get a measurement of their r52/53 mufflers center to center? Please see picture below of my thoughts and sorry if this has been discussed but I haven't seen anything. Thanks!

I'll see if I can measure them this evening.

It probably will end up being more expensive to purchase an R53 exhaust and modify it than just using some generic cans and having a muffler shop fabricate the rest. Unless you have one laying around or get it cheap.

I've seen a whole bunch of 304 stainless R53 setups on ebay that include from mid pipe back for under $250. I've already purchased a stainless pipe kit but I think it would be a great option for some R60 guys who might be able to get their hands on some cheaper rear sections or low cost JCW variants. Axle backs on R60s are expensive!
