R50/53 VDO vs Genuine Mini parts

VDO vs Genuine Mini parts
Does anybody know if VDO is the original manufacturer of the Mini Throttle Housing? I've noticed that their name is printed on the Genuine part as well as the aftermarket replacement.

Its the same part, just does not say MINI on its or have the BMW marks. Also does not come in the standard BMW/MINI parts box. Comes in a VDO box.
