Question about Dynamat

Hi all.

Got a quick question about Dynamat for those that have used it.

If adding this material to the inside of your door panels and other areas of your car can greatly reduce road noise, rattles, vibrations, etc., why don't car manufacturers put this type of material in all cars? Wouldn't they want thier cars to be as quiet as possible to begin with?

Just curious.......

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing the answer is cost. You've got the cost of the material and the cost of the labor (or robot) to put it in, so I think many automakers don't want the extra expense on their lower priced models.

I agree.

Another thing is that, even if you put the stuff in with a heat gun and roller, it will still come loose after a time because the adhesive is inferior. Dynamat does work though.
