Oil Question

Hey guys!

I was racing the sunlight to change my oil on Sunday and I rushed when picking out my oil. I ended up getting Castrol GTX High Mileage 5w30...which I realized today at work isn't a full synthetic.

Do I need to replace it immediately? Can I just wait until next month (~1000mi) to change it?

I'll be changing it really early either way, but I don't have the available finances to change it immediately without hurting the rest of my month's budget.

Thanks in advance.

Likely you will be fine for a month or so....just don't thrash it...drive like a Gramps...
One unfortunate side effect of "high mileage" oils is they have addatives in them to swell the gaskets to stop leaks....but it like a drug...
When you use an oil without it...the seals think to smaller than they were....it starts a vicious cycle....
So I would drive the car gently...reality is you could probably go longer....but I would do it on principle when you can....so you are never wondering.

synthetic oils have more additives than conventional, I would replace it as soon as you can. I think you will be ok as long as you let the car warm up and don't use full throttle. synthetic oils have a higher shear strength than conventional and take the heat better

I'd change it when you can. I personally like to keep what oil used as consistent as possible. Oil if needed - http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item0

Replace with full synthetic as soon as you reasonably can. Good selection of articles here.
