New memeber intro and question

Hello my name is Ward and I have a 05 Mini Cooper base automatic. I was planning on giving it to a senior citizen to drive around locally to the grocery store, church, bingo etc. I was wondering if anyone knew of a programmer that I can buy to make computer adjustments to slow the car down? Maybe lessen the throttle response? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You have a base Cooper CVT and want to make it slower?

Nothing on the market to do that.

Maybe remove the motor and add pedals?

haha very strange idea..... you might be able to get the throttle tuned to have a slower opening, and potentially the sprint booster on eco settings might make the throttle response slower?

Fill the backseat up with bags of sand?

If you are willing to spend the money, I am sure the custom tuners can remap the throttle to slow it down, but you should expect some funny looks when you ask.

The R50 is still one of the slowest cars I've ever driven. And I'm sure a senior citizen won't be throwing it around corners. He'll be fine.
