R50/53 Lug Nut Torque
Lug Nut Torque
I have seen conflicting torque specs for the R53 lug nuts, and want to ensure I am torquing to the recommended specs. A quick search showed the following:
- M12: 88 ft/lb
- M14: 103 ft/lb
+1 I torque my 2003 R53 at 90ft/lbs for street driving and 100ft/lbs for track days, haven't lost a wheel or snapped a wheel bolt yet.
Suggestion: After you torque them down, I always go around each wheel twice, take it out on the road for a couple of miles at highway speed then re-torque when you get back. I ALWAYS get a little more turn on some.
PS: 90# also.
