Setting R53 Engine in time

So long story short
i need a new Cylinder head for my 04 r53 MCS
i removed the head and in doing so i took off the Camshaft gear, i marked the timing chain with some white out but not sure if itll line up correctly when race shop sends it back. (Cam gear and temp sensor)

So basically what im asking is how can you be sure that you set the engine in time correctly?

id rather ask 1 million questions to be sure before i mess something up and come out of my pocket even more MOney.

i Also have pics if needed

There are timing marks on both the crank sprocket and cam sprockets as well as 2 gold links that line up with the 2 marks on the crank and 1 gold link that lines up with the 1 timing mark on the cam gear. I'd recommend installing a fresh timing cassette if you've got the engine apart anyway, it's a cheap kit and will be the last one you put in the car.

Detroit Tuned Timing Kit

No real way to mess up the timing if you've got the engine apart enough to do the timing cassette.

Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions about the reinstallation.

I'm about to drop a rebuilt head back on my R53 as well.

Do you need the BMW timing chain removal tool for reassembly as well?

I would highly recommend it, it makes properly torquing fasteners easier.
