retrofitting?

I have an '03 MCS and I was wondering if some of the new parts on the '05 are retrofittable. Anyone have any answers yet?

The parts I'm curious about:

new locking glove box
new driver's side shade flap (like the visor but only on the side)
new body-colored dash and door bezels w/ improved arm rest

Thanks!

Everything on the 05 is retrofittable - what you really want to know is if its cheap to do. I assume that the sun visor and glove box door are simply a matter of buying the parts, and in the case of the visor, tearing up your current headliner. Might as well replace it with an Anthracite one while you are at it. The glove box lid is probably a quick switch, but the locking point on the dash may be a problem. It would probably be cheaper just to paint your old 5 piece dash, rather than switch the entire thing to the 3 piece.

Hey, anything is possible, just not always affordable.

I am of the (personal) opinion that the new side sunvisor and grab handle needed a change to the head airbags - if so, they would not be retro-fittable in any reasonable cost way ...

Headliner (sun visor and grab handles) are NOT retrofitable according to MINI of Nashville. I didn't think to ask about the glovebox door though...

I also want the little change holder that goes behind the downtubes.... that should be easy enough....

The three piece dash would not work in the older cars, because the '05s have moved the passenger air bag from above the glovebox to the top of the dash. In other words, you'd be covering the air bag with a non-deployable dash cover.

The headliner-based goodies like the grab handle and such require mounting points that dont exist in the body structure of the older cars. The door panel may be swappable, since nothing major has happened to the doors except for the addition of the door handle LED lights and the ground (courtesy) lights, which would take some wiring rework to make operable in the older cars.

I had a feeling that airbags would be an issue with the visor flap and the dash... don't want them that badly!

Didn't think about the possibility of the latch not working on the glove box. Maybe I'll look into that.

Thanks for the replies everyone!
