I have several friends who have white door panels in thier MCS's.
hmm.... maybe I should clarify... on the 05-06 models the door panels on the MCS are black and MC are grey when ordered with grey/black leatherette (maybe space grey cloth too?)
Yup its only with the Black/Grey Leatherette you get grey door panels on the MC and black on the MCS. One detail that nobody mentioned was that with the S you have the option of body colored dash and door trim and its not an option on the Cooper. Only silver and anthracite are available dash options from the factory.
The MCS/a has a 'S' on either side of the 6-speed auto shifter, and the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. this is on my '06, I'm not sure about eariler models.
I didn't believe that until I looked at miniusa.com, and it's true! The MCS is .8" longer than the Cooper, and a little taller, too.
The length difference is all in the overhangs (the parts in front of the front wheels and behind the rear wheels). I'm betting it's all bumpers that make up the length difference.
The height difference is a mystery... Either difference in wheel size, or suspension / ride height. I'd guess the height number on miniusa for the Cooper is with a shorter wheel than the MCS.
And, of course, the number one difference between the Cooper and MCS is that the Cooper has a bigger MINI logo on the bonnet.
