Trouble installing Bilstein shocks!!

Hello,

I recently purchased some front bilstein shocks...

(Strut - Bilstein B4 OE Replacement (Front Right) Brand: Bilstein Part #: 22-119193-M12)

I am told by Pelican Parts that this is the correct part for my car (2006 Mini Cooper S)

I cannot for the life of me, get these things to fit into the steering knuckle collar! The original Delphi shock slide in and out with no effort but these will not budge. the only difference I notice is the delphi has a rounded bottom and these don't but it seem like a common feature for most shock brands for this car so that alone should not keep it from working. Has anyone else run into this?

Here is an application guide that might help determine you received the right ones.

I put Bilsteins on my 2003 and they slid right in. Of course, one bolt snapped off in the knuckle so I had to find a used knuckle but that's another story.

These are the part numbers I used
Bilsteins 22-119186 And 22-119193

I don't know if those are the right part numbers or not, but I do remember reading a post by someone who had trouble installing their struts, they did a little sanding on the struts and used a ground down allen wrench to help spread open the steering knuckle. I recently installed some Koni FSD's and they pretty much slid right in, but I do remember fighting more with some bilstein B8's that I installed. Are you using a jack to help pressing everything together?
