Service intervals

Hi all,

I'm a proud owner of a jet black 2003 MCS in Sydney, Australia and have just exceeded my 10,000km range. I've had the car since September 28 2003 and mainly use it on weekends and i've read the manual and even spoken to me dealership about the service interval.

It was recommended i stick to the service indicator which currently states i've got 7000+ kms until my first service. I thought 15,000km was my first service?

Your actual mileage before the service indicator states it is time for an oil change will vary with your driving style. It ranges from about 10,000 miles to roughly 12,000+ miles for many of us.

Converting km to miles reveals that 17,000 km = 10,540 miles so that sounds about right to me. I'd think that 7000 km more until your first service is correct.

Some owners do change oil early on their own at 10,000 km or roughly 6200 miles but it is not endorsed by MINI and would be at your own expense.

Appreciate you input minihune

I guess when it comes to MINdy (my pet name for my MCS ) i can sometimes get carried away with little things. She's in great shape so far and i try to maintain it that way.

Thanks again minihune

Kudos.
