I'm getting wheel hop when I'm on the gas hard in 1st or 2nd in sharp turns where I start to get wheelspin, I do not have a LSD

at the last autox someone noted my tires would shake a good bit when this happens, anyone else have this? I put the car up on my lift and everything looks ok, no torn bushings but when on the ground I can push forward on the tire a bit, there is bushing play but I'm not sure how out of the norm it is

I replaced shock upper mounts, one was torn but no affect on wheelhop

 

Check your motor mounts, and gearbox mount. And look at the lower rear bushings on the front control arms. That seems to be the main culprit. It can look alright but be worn out.

 

Thanks, I ordered powerflex lca, will check the mounts when I install the lca and change out the supercharger oil & serp belt next week

 

I'm ordering a bunch of mount inserts and Lca bushings from powerflex whenever my tax return shows up. That and a 17% pulley. So I'm doing basically exactly the same thing you are.

 

Powerflex bushings will help tighten up your suspension and improve the handling of your MINI. They're definitely a good investment as they're also more cost efficient than OEM replacements. They have street and race bushings to choose from as well, so make sure you get the set you're wanting to utilize the most. Be sure to check over all your suspension components like the ball joints HERE and it might not be a bad idea to change them out while you're in there. We have the PF mount inserts HERE as well.
