R50/53 JCW Owners - Has This Happened To Your Badge?
The same happened to my Works Cover. My dealer used BMW Brake cleaner and it came off a treat. No effort required.
Now I just clean it every now and again.
Just make sure you spray it onto a cloth as it's extremely flamable stuff.

Brake cleaner is a go as confirmed by JCW in merry old England. However their e-mail did not answer my question reguarding any changes in design to ammend the problem.
Seems silly to spend milions on design and manufacture and still allow a cosmetic problem like that to persist

Add WD to list of cleaners!
I've heard that Simple Green is good to. I'll give the WD a shot in a week or so. I feel better about using that than brake cleaner that might mess up the paint.
I e-mailed my MINI service tech with info on the clean-up. At least they will be better prepared the next time the same problem drives in the front door!

I originally used simple green and it took over 15 minutes and some really hard scrubbing.
It removed in a second with WD40.
If anything, follow up with simple green to remove any wd40 if you want.
