I just finished my supercharger oil service and got everything buttoned up. Let the car idle and noticed my manifold got cherry red in a matter of minutes. This lead me to believe a vacuum leak. I found this gray broken line but don't no what it connects to. One end comes from the intake duct (black tube that goes to supercharger). Please forgive my lack of terminology but I've only owned the mini for a week.
And if some one does ID the line can you please tell me what it goes to in the most simplest form? I will not know the proper term for the part that's been identified.
This happened to me too. There isn't much movement on this line. I was able to epoxy with jb weld mine back together and reinstall. It lasted long enough to get a new one and wait for my convenience to replace. If I had used jb weld epoxy pudy I bet I wouldn't have had to replace at all.
I'm going to give the JB weld a shot. Can't find the darn line anywhere or the the proper name or part number. Realoem only list the black line on the diagram.
That line does not look broken. It looks like the MAP sensor tube is broken off inside the line. It is like a barb tube. I could be wrong, but that is what I am seeing from the photo you posted. The MAP sensor needs a vacuum signal to work.
The gray line you're describing should be the tubing for manifold air pressure sensor or the map sensor hose HERE (#20 below). It's common for it to break during installation due to it being worn out. It does look like Mike is right in that the sensor tub is broken off into the line. Looking at your image it may be time to replace both, but maybe see if the black piece on the sensor will slide off, if so you may just needs the hose. The map sensor is at that link as well. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you Pelican, my sensor is fine, the black end of the tube is what broke off. Do you offer next day shipping to Michigan for the grey tube?
This is the part I need
You're welcome. So the part is HERE. If you click that link and add the part to your cart it will bring you to shipping options, which I believe next day shipping is an option. Let me know if you need anything else.
I recommended epoxy as it will get you on the road tomorrow. For me I didn't have the option to wait for shipping. I needed to drive to work the next day. To hold the part together while epoxy dries a washer and a 1/4-20 bolt works great threaded into the broken hose. Next am 10 minute install and drive to work.

Thanks for the advice, I JB welded the crap out it and carefully reinstalled it. Next time I'll remove the end on the map sensor side to avoid all this. Live and learn.
We are closer and I can work to get it here asap, might be a day or two then it will ship out.
Kind of bothers me to see a vendor war in a post. Not sure why ECS felt they needed to post after Pelican had already posted, especially when I do not think "a day or two then ship" is quick.

Agreed...
If the O.P. needed it fast, the best bet would've been a drive (1 - 1.5 hrs.) to a dealership, who would've probably had it in stock, or would have it at least the next day. Even if the drive was impossible, the dealer could've shipped it immediately.
