Both me and my dad's cars have this issue. Sometimes when I accelerate hard, the A/C begins blowing hot air even with the system off. When I say blowing, I really mean blowing. It's like it's maxed out heat and fan speed. I don't know anything about A/C systems yet, but I'd guess our servo motors to close the vent systems have failed? It's really annoying, but I usually drive with the windows down so it doesn't always affect me.
A bit more info: the A/C operates normally when I turn it on. I can control fan speed and temperature perfectly fine. Sometimes only the top vents come on (the small ones on either of side of the top of the dash). I can purge the system when this occurs by just turning on the A/C and the air will stop blowing so hard and will reset to whatever temperature I've got selected.
