Transmission ID location?

Can't figure out why the new shift cable won't fit.. can anyone tell me where to find my transmission Id? wonder if someone changed it... thanks!

Are you aware the shifter design varies? Did you figure out if you have a style "A" or "B"? VIN is not enough to tell - you have to look at the shifter housing.
