I just discovered that the door gasket part on the r50/53 cars is the same in the Mini Database as the r56. They are not the same.
We had a raccoon issue back in 2010, and I had to get new gaskets for both sides. They looked different, but I got them from the dealer, so they had to be 'right'. The new ones were never as quiet, but we lived with it. I found the old style online - used - on ebay. For $20, I bought one. It makes a huge difference - So, if you have to get new gaskets, get the old ones used.
