I'm also an original owner. 2006 MCS ordered September 2005 and delivered October 28, 2005. We just hit our 10th anniversary 2 weeks ago. It's a weekend fun/Autox car, so the mileage is only 34k. It's been rock solid reliable and is still a blast to drive.

I've toyed with getting something different on a few occasions, but nothing else has ever tempted me enough to let my R53 go.

I have a 2005 S JCS that has 62000 on spedo. Will be my car until I don't drive any more. I am 72 at this time. I also have a 65 cooper s that was a race car that I have brought back to street legal in MT. I am still getting it working well to drive in summer weather.

Feb 2003 R50 (Cooper) - 89K miles.
Midlands trans packed up over a year ago and now it has a Getrag 6-speed with a Quaife LSD.
Now has Koni Yellows. Has always had good wheels and tires.
Put in a Milltek header to match the Miltek catback at the same time.

I'm hoping for another dozen years.

I am still around with my 2003 MCS with 99k miles on the clock.

Only things beside routine maintenance is a headliner, 2 windshields and a PS pump (PS reimbursed by MINIUSA)

few things that I consider routine replacements but I suppose could be argued as beyond maintenance are strut mounts, weeping clutch slave, oil pan and valve cover gaskets, LCA bushings and pass cv shaft due to torn boot

I ordered my first MCS in '02. It was a Chili Red '03, stick, white roof/mirrors/wheels/stripes, with all 3 pkgs. It arrived early and I had it by Christmas '02.

The '05 I have now is also red and a stick, but has black roof/mirrors/stripes and silver wheels. Also has some extra equipment my first one lacked such as Nav, H-K, lumbar and rear foglight. I remember being pissed when the upgraded pedals came out right after my '03 was built so happy to finally have those, too

2003 R53. Build date 9/2002 with 150,000 and going strong. Burns a bit too much oil, no leaks BTW, but it brings a smile to my face every day.

I am really not sure what I would get to replace it.

'06 R53 with just shy of 80k miles. It runs terrifically. Definitely had some repairs along the way, but nothing too excessive. My sunroof makes a lot of angry noise closing and opening, and there are definitely squeaks and rattles in the cabin, but it as fun to drive as ever.

Edit = 107kmi

I was car shopping this summer but when it came down to it there was no new car worth swaping the mini for.
I admit the brz and wrx are as fun or more to drive, I really want an ecoboost mustang and a nicely equipped optima felt grown up but none were worth shelling out $25-30 to me.

I guess I just have to keep fixing the minI. I will draw the line at rust, and here in New England it will eventually be a problem.
Purchased new in April 2006. I too have been car shopping. Really like the new Mustang too, but yeah, it's hard to justify the cost. My car still has less than 70k miles....Thinking I might get the hood and front bumper repainted as they have taken a beating over the years. Might also get that RMW big valve head that I've wanted for so long.
