New to an r53 and was curious if there are any sensors on the 6 speed of any kind ?

 

Too broad of a question. Sensors on the gear box? Sensors on the R53 in general?
No sensors whatsoever on the gear box. The tach and your ears tell you everything you need to know about when to shift in either direction. The rest of it has sensors all over the place.

 

There is one switch on the 6 speed box itself, the reverse switch. What are you trying to get done?

 

On the transmission itself? Here is an image from real OEM that shows the sensor. It's a great website, so maybe take a look at it here.

 

From that page just do a Part Search for "sensor" a whole bunch will be listed

 

There is the sensor on the transmission for the back up and thats pretty much it.
