Oxygen sensor plug

Has anyone had any trouble disconnecting the front O2 sensor plug (between the valve cover and battery cover)? I can't get mine apart no matter what I try. '06 R50.

Are you using a 22mm open wrench to remove it? Otherwise, PEL-4491B here is a removal tool, but the 22mm open wrench should honestly work just fine. Let me know if you're still having an issue. Lots of good info in this NAM thread here.

Thanks for the input. I have the removal tool for the actual sensor, but it is the electrical plug in the engine bay that I am having problems with.

First give it a little lateral twist and slide it off the bracket. That will make it easier to pull apart.

Just a note, with the replacement make sure you don't use a Bosch sensor for the pre-cat as individuals do face an issue with codes being thrown. Recommendation is to make sure to use the NTK O2 sensor for the pre-cat sensor so that you don't have the same issues with codes being thrown. Lots of information on this in this NAM thread here. Good luck and hope you get the sensor disconnected.
