1st inspection

Got my 1st inspection,2nd service today.Dropped the car off yesterday, and got a 320i loaner.Sorry but that is one boring car to drive, nice, but boring.
Poco pasted inspection with flying colors, helps when the car has 95% highway miles.Had a new hatch striker put in as the hatch would rattle sometimes with the windows down .Also got 3 new wiper blades while I was there, installed them later when I got to work.
Saw a new 05 cooper, the tech was just unwraping it.The new headlights don't bother me,but the new 3 spoke steering wheel seems kind of chunky.
And why pray tell did they move the clockNew door arm rests are better, but still not great
They also loaded some new software,so that when they hook the car up to their computer it can talk to MINI Canada, not sure why, neither were they

I'm an expectant '05 MINI father, and it's nice to keep hearing (from those that've seen, in person) that the new Xenons headlights look ok. I don't know what the deal is on the clock. Where was the clock before? And where is it now? Or, is that just a change that applies to the chrono pack option? (I skipped on that one, I'm spending enough as is, thank you.)

I'm glad to hear your MINI is doing well. May we all be as lucky with our babies, both the two legged kind AND the one's with four wheels.

That chunky steering wheel was a concern for me as well. I REALLY (sob, sob) liked the old S-style one, but there's nothing to be done about it. The 3-spoke, after having seen it in good pics, is starting to grow on me. I'm wondering how well the symbols on the MFSW buttons hold up to constant use. Are they such that, after years of being pushed, they wear off? (I HATE stuff like that.)

I'm curious if the vehicle you saw, the '05 MINI, was equipped with any interior or exterior chrome options. If so, what did you think of that? (I'm a little uncertain of the chrome mirror inserts, even though I ordered them.) My MINI is being built right now, so it's too late to change anything. And so, I just want to reassure myself that everything is going to be OK.

I find myself saying that like a mantra now, "Everything is gonna be ok, everything is gonna be OK, EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OK!" (God, PLEASE let that be true.)

Or is it Big Brother watchingSorry BillyB but I did not really look at the chrome. If I remember right the symbols are raised bumps so the should not wear off.I think they moved the clock as some kind of afterthought.Sounds like the chrono package is more for looks than functionTo bad, some real gauges would be nice.
Oh,and the new keys are different, slightly smaller.
