Don't know if this topic has been already discussed or not. Wondering.......what would the widest tire size be on a Cooper 'S' be? I'm getting the standard X-Lite wheels with mine. Not too crazy about the (205)17" style rim. I want to stay in a 16" size, but want to kick out the width of the tire a bit. Don't have my car yet, so wouldn't know what would fit. Any sugestions? Or anyone tried anything more than a 205 16"?? Thanx.

I'm sure you could squeeze a 210, possibly a 215, but anything larger than that would probally be pushing it... You could however cut out the inside of the fender, and prop on a monster, maybe a 240?

By the way, why do you want the thiker wheel? the 205's give ample traction!

The tires that are coming standard on my 'S' are 195's. I was hoping to have at least 205 on the fronts. But was thinking maybe some 210's or 215's for the rear tires. Make it look at bit more juicy-looking in the back. And to kick it out passed the fender flares a bit more. But I think 210 would be more than enough. Just a matter of whether or not they'd fit.
