I have the rubber mats and really like them. They're built to last. After two years I can see a bit of wear at the point where my heel rests, but it hardly shows, especially if I go over it with some protectant. A couple of people have mentioned that the rubber mats always look dirty and while I can generally agree, it doesn't bother me much because they're so easy to wash. If you're so **** about keeping them clean, take off your shoes before entering! You could have a clean pair of driving shoes inside the car at all times. Put your dirty shoes in a plastic bag. Monk would approve.

I have both sets...
and I actually like the look of the carpet better... looks nicer. The rubber ones go down on the floor in the winter.

I have rubber mats. We got them for the winter. Only thing that I don't like about them is there weight, all together they feel like they weigh at least 40lbs.

I'm thinking of Carbon fiber ones for the future, kinda along the lines of the Alum. Diamond plate mats, only lighter .

My S is still on the boat, and I had planned on getting carpet mats . This thread made me rethink rubber since i'm always bringing in tons of snow in the winter. my current car has plastic (yes, plastic) floor mats, and they are annoying as hell. they feel horrible, and they keep your feet wet when it rains, so your feet slide off the pedals. I thought this might happen with the rubber mats, but i guess that's not the case?

We just got back from a three day camping trip with our Mini. It is amazing how much gear and two dogs fit in our Mini.

Anyway, the carpet floor mats were filty when we got home! BUT, after a good hand vac job, and some wiping with a damp cloth, it looks as good as new!

The MINI carpeted mats are unlike any of the junky mats from years past. they are of very high quality and clean VERY easily, don't harbor spots and simply look great and classy.

The rubber mats remind me of a pickup truck.

We have the same plastic floor mats in our Geo. The MINI's rubber mats are great. They can support a lot of anything you might spill on them....learned from experience

The matts are high maintanance, they scratch easy, but thats because they're made from light weight aluminum. a buffer and some mothers and they look great for awhile. They are cut to fit very nice. just too much up-keep for me.

For what they cost mats are not very expensive compaired with the other stuff I want for my Mini. Once they start to look bad/wear-out I'll just buy some new ones. I've been looking at Coco mats as a replacement when the time comes.

I wash my mats a couple times a year and they usually last 3+ years. After that amount of time I am usually looking for something different anyway(mats and/or car ).

got 'em both on my car now. The rubber mats are my base and protect the car best, but I like the look and feel of the carpet -- which are on top.

Interesting - I've seen numerous posts on both this forum and mini2 that the MINI carpet mats are not good quality and wear far too quickly.

Welll, that's subjective of course. I think mine add greatly to the character of the car.
