Why my e-brake handle is loose

It's held on with double sided tape? No wonder it's loose.

Guess it's an easy though

Are you talking about the OEM factory handle? I've taken mine off before and I don't recall any double stick tape.

On the base and S models, the handle is keyed to the steel handle and snaps in place. The JCW handle is a looser fit and according to the official instructions is supposed to be glued in place (Sikaflex something or other). If the grip is an aftermarket or retrofit, it might well be loose.

I think I was reading the item listing on ecsTuning, it mentioned double sided tape. Seems like a cheap solution for a factory part.

Here is a thread on NAM about the R56 JCW handle and tape.

It's shocking that this JCW item (their premium product line) wasn't even designed or manufactured to fit properly.
