R50 suddenly does not crank

hi all, could use some guidance here, 2003 R50, stick shift.

Backed into the garage the other day, went to restart aaaand nothing. Lights come on as normal (battery is a year old, never given a sign of weakness), but nothing when I turn the key. Not even a click or anything, it's not trying to start and failing, just noping the **** out.
Couldn't tell you if any dash lights came on, seems to be the usual ...

I tried the spare key, no difference.
I replaced the clutch safety switch, no difference.
Reset the ECU via the dash menu (and disconnected the battery for 15mins), no difference.
Some people with bad starters recommended rocking the car back and forth in gear, so I did just because why not I'm standing around scratching my head might as well try something, no difference either.

My next guess would be the immobilizer, I have an OBDII reader coming in tomorrow or next day but I'm not sure what error codes (if any?) to expect.

Am I on the right track here?

Battery was at 12.2V, I jumped it anyways. No dice.

Another thing worth mentioning, the clutch pedal used to click once I got to the end of the stroke almost at the floor/firewall and it does not anymore. With the old or new clutch safety switch. Could something have gone wrong inside the master? Sounds unlikely.

Can I bypass that ******** safety switch? It's a hall sensor, so it's not just a matter of shorting 2 wires or closing a loop.

I already looked into bypassing the whole stupid immobilizer, doesn't seem possible.

Clicking clutch switch relay is fixed, I'd blown the fuse trying to bypass it like a noob.

OBD2 reader came in, nothing whatsoever. No error codes.

And, still no change.

Took a second for brain gears to register what the lack of OBD2 error meant.

Push started it, fired right up.

Looks like I'll be ordering a new starter.
