wow busy weekend on here!!! I just got back from out of town! Congrats lois on your vin that rocks!! My wife thinks im crazy too, im on these forums constantly!! But i think she is getting excited too, she keeps pointing out minis on the road! I cant wait till i can start waving and it will actually make sense to the other person! HAHAHA!

I think I'm going to have to stop checking in here for a while because I am just getting depressed . My mini hasn't even started production, and has no production date yet and I don't understand whats causing the delay. All I know is that people who had later production dates than me already have started production . Sorry for being all "woe-is-me" but I just cannot take my car, aka "the baking machine" anymore.

 

same here, merikk. no news for me either. They are still telling me that my car will begin production at the earliest on monday, september 13. Its hard to think about having to wait another two weeks minimum for any updates :(

 

Well, everyone. I'm really sorry about your MINIs But I broke down & called MINIUSA this morning since I got a VIN # over the weekend. Sunnie apparently went into production last Thursday 8/26 & will be finished mid to late this week Now I just hope she catches a quick ride over here & the hurricanes have settled down along the Carolinas They seem to be making Cabrios this week.:smile: Hang in there:smile:

Hey Mr. Applecello! I too have been waiting so long! I just called ASK MINI and I to am scheduled for September 13th build date. Enjoy the ride. Just think. Those car bodies are on a spool of cold steel right now outside the plant. Engines and trannys on a pallet somewhere. We are at the end of a long tunnel!!

Hang in there you guys, if it makes you feel any better my sister practically beat me up when i told her my mini is in production and hers is not, especially since we ordered them on the same day and the dealer told her the mc usually goes faster thatn the mcs. So just take comfort that my luck has been paid for in PAIN!!!! PAAAAAIINNNNN!!!!!

 

seems that you made the cut into a production run before me... too bad. i would gladly take a beating to have my car start production sooner! ...as long as said beating doesnt render me unfit for Piloting my MINI upon arrival...

 

Cool! They said mine began production on Aug 26th! To be completed Sept 5th! Woohoo!!! Go baby go!

 

I'm jealous of all you guys getting into production!! I have a production number 7482XXX and am seeing others in this same range moving into production. Last time I called MINIUSA, they still said week 38. :smile: The automated phone message says scheduled for production with no firm date.

I have a question about the status on the OL. It still says "On Order" for me and I do not see anything in the Factory Options. The question is did your factory options ever show up in the OL? If so, what was the time frame before the start of production?

As for goodies from MINI, I did receive a stencil for marking my parking place "MINI parking only" in the mail the other day. Other than that, nothing.

I'm right there with you dwr1004 with the exception of the stencil. Week 38, sched. for production with no date and nothing under factory options. I did confirm my options with MINI USA so no worry there. I'm probably better off without the stencil as well, the garage would not look quite the same by the time that I got finished .

I'm sure we'll both be happy when our cars are finished in a couple of weeks but this wait is just killing me.

 

Dale - My status on the OL finally changed to "Enroute" yesterday - she left with the Freedom 5 days before. My Factory Options have never shown up on the OL. I emailed MINIUSA about it, and they emailed me back a list of the correct options, but those have never shown on the OL tracking page.

Now, I WANT to know about the goodies! I have received NOTHING!! - -

 

ok friends...i've resisted long enough.... i have two names lingering in my head and need to take some public opinion into account here... will it be either:

1. GreenBean - for the color and mr. bean who always drove an old mini

2. Traveling Wilbury - for george harrison who was one of the most famous mini drivers

Tough call... I like GreenBean personally.

 

I vote for greenbean. No one under 40 will get the other one.

 

Mr Bean is a good thought but not original enough, many MINIs with that name. Greenbean is somewhat cutsey but I do like it:smile: . I like Traveling Wilbury the best but perhaps drop the Traveling & just call him Wilbury:smile:

Having just called ASK MINI this morning......

I've memorized the response: "Your MINI is scheduled for production with no confirmed........" Yea, yea........I got that part!

Yikes, the waiting is torture.

In the meantime, anyone familiar with web site that gathers ideas for personalized license plates for the MINI?

I think in Missouri we are allowed six letters with maybe a one spot for a space or dash.......

 

Living in Missouri also, we are somewhat limited with our six figures but start brainstorming & you will come up with something unique. I already have a list started. I'm leaning towards SNE-MNI, MNI-CAB,OPN-MNI, or just plain SUNNIE.
But unfortunately you can't have MNI-SUV, it's already taken

Mine says completion the 6th- I hope they mean it- we'll be travelling together if we're lucky!
