Alliance is a french school institution, and is the reason why I studied french for six years. Sorry- not a Mac user, but a proud owner of a Sony TRA3

oh- my first ever computer at the age of 6 was an Apple- does that count??

NYC, thats unbelievable. put up the link here for everyone to see! I would do it but I dont want to if you are not comfortable with sharing it.

Im a classical musician myself, though not in a professional capacity at this point. Do you have any music in the iTunes music store? I would love to check it out!

NYC- Toda  ! I was too scared to get a MAC- wasn't sure how I would adjust to the different programs. I am looking for a new home PC... Perhaps I will consider a MAC for that.

BTW, are u getting a Cooper or a Cooper S?

I am a Mac user as well. I am a Windows Network Admin by day and I don't want to have to come home to more wintel problems .

BTW, I work for a French company. OMG, what a pain in the butt! Today our WAN connection went down and so we were trying to get someone (anyone) over there to help us. The basic response was an Out of Office notice because everyone is on "holiday" in August. The one person we did get said we have to wait until tomorrow because he did not want to stay at work late since he had to "paint the stairs." Argh!

Patrick- my best friend moved to France 7 years ago, and has been living there ever since (married a French man). She really loves it there... I personally preferred Italy more- I like the Italian's laid back and open mentality.

I need to see italy. My whole family is Italian and laid back and open is not how i would necessarily describe them!

Maybe a tour through Italy in a MINI is in order.... (ok, Patrick gets serious on his job search... )

Italy's amazing. Great food, great people (not snobbish like...) and amazing history. I could definitely see myself living there (or in England) one day after my MBA.

And speaking of which, it dawned on me today (thanks, NYCmini!) that I share my heritage with the Mini, as I am half British

Getting a Cooper. my MA actally warned me AGAINST an S for city driving as it is so stiff and the 17 inch runflats/wheels really hate potholes!

Macs and Minis just seem like they go together!

I love macs, although i have a pc also(blech) i take my power book everywhere with me, as well as my digital camera i cant wait to start snapping pictures of my mini, which by the way I have decided to name.......ready?.........here it comes..........hehee..........

MEGATONAMINI

(pronounced mega-ton-uh-mini) if that makes any sense.

I think we are going to Italy this next year with my wifes employers whoo hoo free trip, so I will have to pick your brains on places to go and whatnot. Even though I just got here its nice to put faces with the names, my mission was to find the goofiest photo i had, this is pretty close.attached. thats me on the right and my little guy donovan, we are actually at the mac expo in san francisco looking at the new mini ipods, how appropriate.

Now I do. Your son is darling. Did you take that with a cell phone? I have a new cell phone with camera but no internet service. Is there a connector you can buy to download your pictures to your computer? My company pays for the phone so that's why I have no internet service. I can't be too greedy.

The name

Thanks!! I cant remember what I took that with, Im pretty sure it was my phone, It has bluetooth so thats how I get the pics onto my computer, but I know they do have cables to download from phones, my friend purchased one for his sprint phone but I couldnt tell you how much.

The name: Somehow a running joke got started that when we had a baby we were going to teach it to rule the world, so i came up with a cool sounding villian name, MEGATONATAUN (mega ton uh tawn) for donovan, we scared the crap out of our parents for a long time insisting that was going to be his name bwhahahahahah. But we chickened out and went with donovan.

My mini is going to be coming right through your neck of the woods there. I got it from St Lois Mini!!

My first MINI came from MINI of St Lois But I ordered the Cabrio from Roadshow in Memphis. I've already made a roadtrip down to meet my MA & attend a MINI event. When I pick up Sunnie, I think I'll take her to see Elvis The reason I'm traveling 250 miles is because MINI of St Louis is charging $1500 over MSRP. I was able to get the leather seats & then some for that amount at Roadshow. Plus roadtrips in MINIs are ALWAYS fun Devin is actually a pretty nice guy. He was the one I spoke to about the Cabrio.

Is it just the mark up on the Cabrios?

Is it just a mark up on the Cabrios? I got msrp on my MCS and same on my sisters MC. Wierd how this stuff works sometimes. The mark ups here in Cali are around 2500 and a 4-12 month wait, sheesh!!!!

When I bought Louie-I paid $500 which was dealer charges & a set of floor mats. It also served as my deposit. Roadshow charges $250. The $1500 was only on the Cabrios. Are they still charging the $500 for MC's & MCS's? I would have been willing to pay that amount but 1500 was a little much. Are you getting your MINIs shipped to Cali? Why not fly here & take a little roadtrip home. Your MINI will get broken in right away then. And I could tell you about some fabulous places to eat close to the MINI dealer. The dealer is in a real trendy part of St Louis with lots to do & see.

mini mini

We put 600 down but he said that goes toward the car, I really am seriously thinking about doing the road trip. Just trying to work out the logistics with work and school and all! But if that doesnt work out we are having them shipped, dont have an exact cost yet but he said ballpark of 5-600 bux for shipping. I will definitely keep you posted on the trip though!! I really hope I get to do this trip!

ps i guess we are paying the dest fee which is around 500, i expected that though.

When we orederd the new MINI I told him I'd give him $100 and that's it. He said since this is the second one in a year that they'd take it. It'll be used toward down payment. I'm also trying to get him to give me some extras from MINI Mania. He said he could get me $150 worth of stuff, but I think I can talk him into $200. There are 3 MINI dealerships in Chicagoland so they do a little to get your business.

Thanks merikk for the kind words. We were quite sad about the car. The good thing that came out of it is now we had experience with the MINI and we know exactly what we want. Would've waited for LSD if we didn't need to replace the car right away. Other than that, we got it the way we wanted, even the purple haze woulda been a preferred choice even with the indi blue. I sure did like that color though.

HURRY UP WITH MY CAR ALREADY MINI!!!!!!!!
