Well, I finally picked my baby up last night! It was so much fun!

I had to get a friend to take me as hubby is out of town. There was no way I was going to wait another week for him to get home! When we walked up to the dealership after parking, there was a MINI in the showroom with a large black car cover on it. What was cute is the car cover had a zipper motif on it! It was darling. Well, I found out that it was MY CAR! It was so fun!

Amy Childers at Cincinnati MINI is the best thing to ever happen to me and to the whole car buying experience. And, because it was suggested here before, I found out what her favorite wine was and I got her wine and Godiva Chocolates. I even found a gift bag with a bulldog on it!

Anyway, I was there for about an hour as all the paperwork had been done previously. It was so much.... well, fun is the only word I can think of. She went over that car from tip to tailpipe with me to ensure that I knew what I needed to know to get me home.

Finding Reverse and 6th gear was a little difficult at first but I've got it now!! I love those Xenon headlights! And, the auto level thing is a hoot! And, I'm glad I did not spend the extra money for the upgraded stereo as this one is awesome!

For all of you waiting, it is so worth it!! I cannot believe how much I love this car!

She doesn't have a name yet but I am pretty sure it's a girl!! And, we dont know exactly what we want on the license plate yet!

Sounds like you had a terrific experience! I hope I have the same when I pick mine up near the end of the month. It will also be nice if my dealer "goes over" the car with me as well. I like the drama of finding your car covered like a gift - I'll be very surprised if they do something like that for me.

Congrats!

PS

How about "GIGI", if it's a girl?

I was scheduled for a Jan. delivery for an EB MCS. There was NO way I could wait.
Long story short I picked up MANDY last night. WOW! MANDY is a 2003 MCS Liquid Yellow, packages 1,2,and3. Who knew motoring could be sooooooooh much fun.

Gigi is a very cute name but I don't think it fits her. Gigi would be awesome for a Pepper white or a Yellow. My husband said that he has to meet her before we can pick a name. It's the least I can do.

I turned 250 miles yesterday! The MINI only had 8 miles on her when I picked her up.

Hubby had to go to Baltimore for some training for work. So, he calls me three or four times a day to see how his new baby is and make sure that I am treating her right.

Oh, what else is cool is the MINI takes up so little space in the garage, I can walk all the way around her with the garage door closed! The Honda barely fits (it is a station wagon) and the Syclone is close. But, you cannot walk in front of or behind the Honda and you have to squeeze around the Syclone in front to get around it with the door closed. The MINI, I was out there yesterday in my PJs wandering all around it!! And, noone in the neighborhood was frightened by the sight of me out there!!

Well, I am off to do some Motoring! I am looking for excuses to go out today! I usually sit home on the couch all day on Sundays!!

Barb

PS- Gross, tell your dealer about my experience. I am sure to be competitive, they will do the same for you! LOL

Remember that finding reverse may be tough at first, until a few hundred miles of working the gears! Break in time!
