And to think you considered passing the MINI for a metro. Hey I would fly down and drive back. Great way to break it in.

It is a closed carrier, and from what I understand they are truly great. However I'm still contemplating picking the car up myself and driving back (although OH to CA is a long drive...). Depends on how long until they can ship it.

Nice car! Too bad that nasty-looking Z4 is ruining the shot (I hate the look of the new Bimmers).

I'm also in Utah. So here's the question: why are you buying out-of-state and having the car shipped in?

I, too, would think about flying up to Classic and driving it home, alas, time constraints prohibit me from doing so..... $1200 seems to be a fair price especially with all the good feedback I've heard for them......oh well, it gives me a little bit more time to sell my beloved 2003 MC.... hint, hint..... any takers out there?

here's a link to it on the marketplace

I checked at Mini of Murray and they told me that if I put down a deposit for a 2005 (this was in April I think) that it would go into production in December. That was too long for me so I checked other options. Honestly, I didn't know there was a $1200 charge. I thought that's what the $550 shipping and destination charge was. Anyway, I'm getting the jitters again. The car is going to cost me around $400 a month and about $70 a month for insurance. I'm thinking maybe I should be a bit more practical and go for a Mazda 3 or a Scion tC for about $275 a month.

My brother is in the market for a new car in the next few weeks and yesterday we test drove the Cooper (non-S, that's what he's interested in), the Mazda 3, and the VW GTI.

To quote my brother on the 3, "it drives like a Tercel". If you can manage to afford the MCS, I say go for it. You could always pick up an MC too.
