R50 front ride height

Does anybody know of a method to determine the proper front ride height? My 2005 Mini (non-S 50,000 miles) has a very harsh ride and I'm wondering if the front is too low. It has maybe two inches of ground clearance. The Bentley manual describes a complicated tool that attaches to the strut towers.

My camber is also out of tolerance and I suspect the two are related. I can measure other Mini's fender lip to wheel center but don't know what the number should be or whether they are OK as well. I bought the car used and it had been wrecked previously in the nose.

Thanks for any info.
Peter

Please tell me the distance from your front wheel center to the bottom edge of your front fender lip.

I am particularly interested in unmodified and youthful cars. I know there is variability due to the plastic fender thing but I'm ok with that.

Thanks so much,
Peter

BTW, the average of my fronts is 326mm.

I put a tape measure against the front wheel and ran the tape stop up against the underside of the fender lip perpendicular to the ground plane. I read the distance off the tape at the center of the MINI wheel center cap.

Thanks again,
Peter
