R50/53 ecu question

ecu question

I plan to have the ecu reprogrammed ,, the question is can I have another used ecu programmed and use that to swap out with the original one ,, I would like to keep my stock one ,, will the keys and such still work ?? gmonde

No you can't take another used ECU and do that.

Now if you wanted to spend the big bucks it could be done with a New ECU, but you would have to align it to the EWS module each time you swapped it, but that would require having the proper software to do that.

That would be a pretty cool way to steal a car, just swap out the ECU and fire it up, drive away.
