loud performance exhaust resonator

the stock exhaust on my 04 cooper S was rusted out internally,, so I had a bunch of left over exhaust pieces from other jobs (2 flowmaster mufflers ,2 1/4 j bends ,gto 3 1/2 tips,) so long of the short ,, fabricated a y pipe and installed the flowmaster mufflers not thinking how loud this would be,, any one add any a resonators to tone down there loud exhaust ,, gmonde

That looks pretty good for being made with stuff laying around! Can you get a video of the sound? Most aftermarket exhausts come resonated, or with optional resonator to tone it down.

That looks great! I've been thinking about doing something like that. What model of Flowmasters are those? Video showing the sound? What's it sounds like inside the car as highway speeds....is it annoyingly loud?

Nice home made. Tips make it look like Milltek or JCW from far away.

2 1/4 y pipe (made out of 2 j bends) to 2 flow master 10 series mufflers , offset inlet ,center outlet, 2 1/4 ,,but I had to trim it close to the muffler ,then 2 1/4 u bends trimmed to run close to the back side of the battery box connecting the 2 mufflers together , the tips where off of 2006 stock gto mufflers ,, so plenty of flow for sure ,, yeah it had a loud tone to it ,, it had a wicked drone to it as well ,, so I hole sawed a access hole in the bottom half of the mufflers and added a couple of baffles (angle brackets with holes in them not to restrict flow but to defuse the droning sound ) ,, it did the job!!!!!! ,, a little loud but not bad, it is a daily driver ,, it has a cool off idle cackle to it ,, it bumps the chip with ease ,, I will get a sound clip when a get a chance
