I also detest how the shift action feels with a lighter ****, as well. A heavier **** smooths things out a bit.

The r53 shift **** selection isn't the greatest, wish there was more to choose from.

Momo Nero.

The previous owner of my mini did splurge a hundred for a ****, and I quite like it - it's Momo Nero (http://www.momousa.com/store/index.p...****/nero.html)

About the same size as the OEM ****, but combined with short-shift kit it feels pretty nice.

Installed this yesterday on my '02 R50. It is a regulation "spotted" cue ball. $6.95 shipped. I drilled a 5/8" hole a bit under 2 1/4" into it (measure twice, drill once!), applied duct tape to the shaft to make a tighter fit and then epoxyed it into place. Since the epoxy is actually stuck to the tape, it is removable too. Nice weight and size.
